This section introduces different advanced powertrains for pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and range-extender solutions and describes the technical properties.
Electric Drivetrain Units
The electric drive unit 1eDT160 is the latest product of the GETRAG eDRIVE line. Within a conventional vehicle the 1eDT160 can extend a vehicle easily to a mild or a full hybrid. Additionally, fuel improvements of up to 20% compared to a conventional drivetrain are feasible. Besides that, pure electric driving is possible with this Powertrain.
The electric drive unit 1eDT161 also belongs to the GETRAG eDRIVE productline. Using the 1EDT161 a conventional 4WD drivetrain can easily be upgraded to a mild or full hybrid system. Fuel consumption benefits of up to 20% compared to a conventional drivetrain are feasible. This drive unit has a mechanical connection for a mechanical all-wheel drive. Pure electric driving is possible with this drive unit thanks to the maximum output torque of 1,600 Nm.
The electric axle 1EDT240 is currently the most powerful single motor unit in the GETRAG eDRIVE product line. Especially at low speeds pure electric driving is possible with a sporty perfomance thanks to the maximum output torque of 2,400 Nm. The 1EDT240 can also be used for as hybrud axle for the hybridization of passenger cars or light commercial vehicles.
The drive unit called eTWIN 1eDT330 of the GETRAG eDRIVE product line provides the ideal basis for pure electric powered sports cars. At present it is the most powerful electric drive unit in the GETRAG eDRIVE product line and provides a maximum power of up to 300 kW per vehicle axle.
The electric drive unit 2eDT100 of the GETRAG eDRIVE product line is designed specially for small electric city vehicles. It is already tested in prototype vehicles. Pure electric driving is possible to a velocity of up to 120 km/h.
The electric drivetrain 2eDT180 extends the available GETRAG eDRIVE product line by an additional version using a two speed transmissions. Using the 2eDT180 a conventional car with all-wheel drive configuration or a drive shaft can easily be upgraded to a full hybrid. Fuel improvements of up to 22% compared to a conventional all-wheel drive vehicle are feasible. Pure electric driving in the city, is possible thanks to the maximum output torque of 1,800 Nm.
With the GETRAG boosted range extender 2RET300 a low-cost electric powertrain architecture is available that combines the advantages of conventional drives as well as electric drives. The combination of an internal combustion engine with an electric motor offers an impressive fuel improvement and excellent performance data. The daily driving ranges are covered by the electric motor. For long distance travels theinternal combustion engine can be used to load the battery or the drive the wheels by using one of the two available gears. The total range is comparable to a conventional vehicle.
